Sourcing & quality control
Finding supply that matches the spec on paper, and proving it before the container leaves.
The problem
Most sourcing failures are not price failures. They are specification failures: a sample that does not match the lot, a chemical panel that drifts between harvests, a producer who cannot repeat last year's profile at volume.
How I work
- Write the specification before the negotiation, in the buyer's own quality language.
- Qualify producers on repeatability at volume, not on a single flattering sample.
- Third-party panels and retained counter-samples on every lot, referenced in the contract.
- One document trail from sample to bill of lading, so a claim can be settled with evidence.
What changes
Buyers reorder because the second container looks exactly like the first. That is the whole business.
Reliable supply, verifiable quality, terms that hold.
